摘要: Although several bacteria are currently used as possible indicators of human pathogens in sewage-polluted sea water, they often viewed inadequate and especially viral pathogens. This study investigates the distribution Bacteroides fragilis closely related spp. their associated bacteriophages water frequently for recreational purposes. These organisms may provide a potentially more appropriate indicator. is one about 10 species which loosely placed together 'B. fragilis' group. Samples down-current from sewage outfall were examined presence B. group bacteriophages. Numbers correlated with current bacterial at these sites. isolates hosts to successfully isolate The host range was investigated. It hoped expand this by using identify suitable, European-wide, indicator can also be detect suitable indicators.
