摘要: The majority of deaths in ovarian cancer are caused by recurrent metastatic disease which is usually multidrug resistant. This progression has been hypothesised to be due part the presence stem cells, a subset cells capable self-renewal and able survive chemotherapy migrate distant sites. Side population (SP) identified efflux DNA-binding dye Hoechst 33342 through ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters, known adult cell group have suggested as various cancers. Despite identification SP lines patient samples, little attention paid specific ABC transporters within this fraction thus may facilitate drug resistance. In study, we demonstrate that can detected both ascitic fluid these possess resistance properties. We show ABCB1 functioning transporter lines, expression associated with paclitaxel-resistant phenotype. Moreover, silencing using morpholino oligonucleotide results an inhibition phenotype sensitising paclitaxel. should therefore considered therapeutic target cancer.
