Implant-retained mandibular overdentures compared with complete dentures ; a 5-years' follow-up study of clinical aspects and patient satisfaction

摘要: The aim of this prospective randomized controlled clinical trial was to evaluate and compare aspects satisfaction during the first year following treatment consecutively change in next 4 years follow-up. Patients were allocated one modalities: an implant-retained overdenture (IRO-group, 2 endosseous implants, n = 61) or a complete denture (CD-group, 60). One after placement denture, unsatisfied patients CD-group got opportunity for retreatment including overdenture. In IRO-group implants lost again (survival rate: 93%). All could be re-operated successfully. 14 (23%) chose 1 year. significantly more satisfied than (satisfaction score 8.3 versus 6.6, scale 1-10) 5 (7.4 6.4). From study it can concluded that have high survival rate 5-years' Satisfaction is diminishing time, probably because get used improved situation. After years, mean (including who implants) still lower IRO-group, spite overdentures.
