摘要: Abstract Prorocentrum lima (CSIRCSMCRI005) was isolated from the coastal seawater of Thonithurai, Tamil Nadu, India. Morphology isolate studied using light microscopy (LM) and scanning electron (SEM) while phylogenetic analyses internal transcribed spacer region (ITS1-5.8s-ITS2), 18S rDNA, large subunit (LSU) rDNA were also carried out. Growth studied, okadaic acid (OA) production examined liquid chromatography with electrospray ionization quadrupole time flight mass spectroscopy (LC-ESI-Q-ToF-MS). Morphological features observed including oval cell shape a broad middle region, narrow anterior round posterior end, central pyrenoid starch sheath, smooth thecal surface, V-shaped periflagellar area consisting eight platelets matched description type species those reported elsewhere. The ITS, 18S, LSU sequence analysis revealed that closely related to other strains pacific. growth rate (μ) 0.05 div. day−1. P. CSIRCSMCRI005 produced esters. free total OA 20.12 ± 4.77 22.30 fg cell−1, respectively. findings this study contribute useful information concerning regional risk diarrheic shellfish poisoning in North East Indian Ocean global distribution toxic potential lima. Further studies on ecophysiology strain will be helpful. This manuscript reports detailed morphological, phylogenetic, toxicological characterization Bay Bengal as whole.
