Recent research has implicated Helicobacter pylori one possible cause. pregnancy is generally a mild, self-limited condition that may be controlled with conservative measures. A small percentage women more profound course, most severe form being hyperemesis gravidarum. Unlike morning sickness, gravidarum negative implications for maternal fetal health. Physicians should carefully evaluate patients nonresolving or worsening symptoms to rule out common pregnancy-related nonpregnancy-related causes vomiting. Once pathologic ruled out, treatment individualized. Initial involve dietary changes, emotional support, perhaps alternative therapy such ginger acupressure. Women complicated nausea also need pharmacologic therapy. Several medications, including pyridoxine doxylamine, shown safe effective treatments.
