摘要: Legislative regulations in favor of combined heat and power (CHP) production have been implemented many countries. Although these put different emphasis on vs. process production, they are based energy quantities not exergy. In order to analyze compare the exergetic consequences various legislations, a relative avoided irreversibility (RAI) is defined. This can be regarded as exergy loss that when reference plants with separate replaced by an actual CHP plant. Some series industrial district heating plants, under varying operational conditions, used test cases. It seen some, but all, cases exergetically beneficial generation. Comparison RAI allows quantitative assessment performance indicators. improvements were only captured limited degree energy-based efficiency legislatively defined indicators even appear discourage thermodynamic improvements.
