Isolation of a Sperm Membrane Sialoglycoprotein Autoantigen from Rabbit Testes

摘要: A single rabbit sperm membrane autoantigen has been isolated from testes by immunoadsorbent chromatography, agarose and electrophoresis. This (RSA-1) is located in the plasma blocks cytotoxic (immobilizing) activity of autoantisera. RSA-1 a sialoglycoprotein, approximately 40% carbohydrate containing 0.2 µg sialic acid/µg protein. Its m.w. estimated at 13,000 ± 1200 SDS-PAGE. can self-aggregate into higher forms. Approximately 0.6 mg be 100 testes. The shows 300-fold increase specific inhibitory over starting testis pellet material.
