摘要: Objective There is controversy regarding the significance of radiological consolidation in context COPD exacerbation (eCOPD). While some studies into eCOPD exclude these cases, a common feature admissions real practice. This study aims to address question whether distinct clinical phenotype with implications for management decisions and outcomes. Patients Methods The European Audit was carried out 384 hospitals from 13 countries between 2010 2011 analyze guideline adherence eCOPD. In this analysis, were split according presence or not on admission chest radiograph. Groups compared terms epidemiological features, existing treatment, care utilized mortality. Results 14,111 cases included comprising 2,714 (19.2%) 11,397 (80.8%) without. The risk radiographic increased age, female gender, cardiovascular diseases, having had two more previous year, sputum color change. Previous treatment inhaled steroids associated. Patients significantly likely receive antibiotics, oxygen non-invasive ventilation during lower survival 90-day follow-up. Conclusions Patients admitted who have severe illness course, are treated intensively by clinicians poorer prognosis. We recommend that patients be considered subset exacerbation.
