摘要: Abstract The electrochemical behaviour of glycine on well-defined Pt(100) and Pt(110) electrodes has been studied in an acid medium by means cyclic voltammetry situ FTIR spectroscopy. results presented this paper those reported previously for the Pt(111)|glycine system have shown that oxidation is a surface structure-sensitive reaction. Adsorbed cyanide (band around 2100 cm −1 ) adsorbed nitric oxide at 1610 were main poisoning species formed during electro-oxidation amino Pt(100). cyanate (2165 also identified as intermediate such oxidation. formation carbon monoxide ad-layer when electrode was polarised below 0.4 V glycine-containing solution attributed to reaction produce CO ads and, probably, NH 4 + . On Pt(110), produces unique species. can be removed from potentials 0.1 V. Finally, presence reversibly glycinate anions both surfaces shown. Glycinate are 2-fold coordinated through their carboxylate groups.
