摘要: Abstract Thirty to fifty percent of group B and C Neisseria meningitidis carrier isolates are not serotypable with existing outer membrane protein typing sera. A system based on differences in the profiles after sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) was therefore developed as an adjunct serotyping methods. Although most N. strains contain several proteins visible by SDS-PAGE, there only one three predominant proteins. The SDS-PAGE these major were used establish 10 different PAGE types. Greater than 95% all meningococcal isolates, regardless serogroup, fit into 1 profile individual constant when fractions prepared from same strain days. comparison obtained sites patient revealed no significant among both minor for isolate sets thus far examined. Characterization type can be a valuable epidemiological tool addition absence specific serotype antisera.
