摘要: Accumulation of cadmium (Cd), an extremely toxic metal, can cause renal failure, decreased vitamin D synthesis, and consequently osteoporosis. The aim this work was to evaluate the effect Cd on two types bone in growing Wistar rats. Sixteen 21-day-old male rats were assigned one groups. group subcutaneously received 0.5mg/kg CdCl2 5 times weekly for 3 months. control similarly bidistilled water. Following euthanasia, mandibles tibiae resected, fixed, decalcified processed histologically obtain sections H&E tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) staining. Photomicrographs used determine volume (BV/TV%), total growth cartilage width (GPC.Wi) hypertrophic (HpZ.Wi), percentage yellow marrow (%YBM), megakaryocyte number (N.Mks/mm(2)), TRAP+osteoclast (N.TRAP+Ocl/mm(2)). Results statistically analyzed using Student's t test. exposed animals showed a significant decrease subchondral increase TRAP+ osteoclast tibia, mandibular interradicular bone. No differences observed remaining parameters. results obtained with experimental design show that would seemingly have different tibial suggest inhibits differentiation mesenchymal cells osteoblasts, favoring into adipocytes. effects might be due protective mastication forces.
