摘要: Glucocorticoids (GCs) regulate distinct physiological processes in the developing fetus, particular accelerating organ maturation that enables fetus to survive outside womb. In preterm birth, does not receive sufficient exposure endogenous GCs utero for proper development predisposing neonate complications including intraventricular hemorrhage, respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) and necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC). Synthetic (sGCs) have proven useful prevention of these since they are able promote rapid underdeveloped organs present fetus. While drugs be clinically effective IVH, RDS NEC, may also trigger adverse developmental side effects. This review will examine current clinical use antenatal sGC therapy their placental metabolism, effects on brain.
