摘要: Our understanding of mineral nutrition and carbon heterotrophy in mistletoes is derived largely from arid temperate plant communities. Sharp differences between the tropical, communities, such as seasonality, water availability mean temperature may influence basic assumptions regarding mistletoe physiology. Thus, we present profiles natural abundance nitrogen stable isotope data for tropical their hosts. Parasite-host were estimated three Loranthaceous mistletoes: Scurrula ferruginea Danser, Macrosolen cochinchinensis Blume, Dendrophthoe curvata Blume 12 unique mistletoe-host associations. δ13C δ15N values parasite-host Differences host parasite small but showed significant depletion leaves compared with distal branch proximal leaves. Host uncorrelated whereas significantly correlated, demonstrating N dependence. Concentrations K higher relative to hosts For Macrosolen, concentrations major minor elements did not differ significantly.
