Personality dimensions of the pathological gambler

摘要: MMPI data were examined for 100 white male veterans who involved in an inpatient treatment program pathological gamblers. The modal profile (4-2-7) was suggestive of significant psychopathology, including depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. Disregard authority, impulsivity, feelings masculine inadequacy, histories overly close relationships with mothers faulty identification fathers suggested. Cluster analysis yielded four types profiles among the Common elements differences between discussed. need longitudinal research greater attention to social factors emphasized.
