摘要: In a previous series of Thomson scattering (TS) experiments on an extreme ultraviolet producing vacuum arc discharge in tin vapor, background radiation emitted by the plasma was found to make measurements impossible for all parts except prepinch phase. To reduce level recorded radiation, we have built setup time and space resolved subnanosecond TS. Results obtained with this new are presented previously inaccessible discharge--the ignition phase, pinch decay For first two, been performed at different heights plasma. Electron densities phase derived. electron confirm Stark broadening data. From overall results, more complete picture evolution can be formed.
