摘要: Abstract Substrate saturation curves, using rat liver microsomes, were measured for the in vitro desaturation of following acids : 18:0,20:2 (n-9) 18:2 (n-6), and 20:3 (n-6). Attemps also made to measure a substrate curve 18 1 (N-9). However, rate conversion was so low that it not possible curve. The (n-6) acids, (n -6) 20:4 used as potential inhibitors establish whether these inhibited acids. All three 18:0. When 40 nmoles either or incubated with 10 amount produced depressed. did alter (n-9). acid, markedly 20:2 Conversely 18:3 (n-3) inhibit other two both role which competitive reactions play regulating polyunsaturated fatty acid biosynthesis is discussed.
