摘要: Good water quality of the Rio San Juan is critical for economic development northeastern Mexico. However, river has rapidly degraded during last few decades. Societal concerns include indications contamination problems and increased diversions agriculture, residential, industrial supplies. Eight sampling sites were selected along where samples collected monthly 10 mo (October 1995-July 1996). The concentration heavy metals chemical constituents measurements bacteriological physical parameters determined on samples. In addition, discharge was recorded. Constituent concentrations in 18.7% all exceeded at least one standard. particular, fecal total coliform bacteria, sulfate, detergent, dissolved solids, Al, Ba, Cr, Fe, Cd, several standards. Pollution showed spatial temporal variations trends. These statistically explained by changes constituent inputs discharge. Samples from site upstream El Cuchillo reservoir had large when small; this supplies domestic to city Monterrey.
