Recombination in rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus: possible impact on evolution and epidemiology.

摘要: Rabbit haemorrhagic disease (RHD) was first recognised in 1984 following the introduction of apparently healthy rabbits into China from Germany. The aetiological agent virus (RHDV) has subsequently killed hundreds millions domestic and wild particularly Europe, Australia. Previously, using phylogenetic analysis we have attempted to understand underlying factors that determine why this emerged, it such an unpredictable epidemiology. Here report use tree congruency supported by bootscanning detect recombination amongst both closely related, widely divergent strains RHDV. We show occurs commonly several different regions RHDV genome. Moreover, identified strain RHDV, i.e. 1984, showed evidence capsid gene, with a or viruses containing lineages German strains. These observations imply may play significant role evolution, epidemiology diversity
