An enzyme immunoassay for the direct detection of adenovirus in clinical specimens

摘要: A total of 414 clinical samples were tested by an enzyme immunoassay (EIA) for direct detection adenovirus as well cultured in Graham 293, A549, and human diploid foreskin fibroblast cells. Adenovirus was detected 69 (16.7%) specimens. The EIA 51 (12.3%) specimens; two positive only. isolated from 67 (16.2%) 18 culture Compared with viral isolation, had a sensitivity 73.4% specificity 99.4%, predictive value 96% negative 95%.
