摘要: Adenocarcinoma (AdC) is the most common lung cancer subtype and often associated with pleural effusion (PE). Its poor prognosis attributable to diagnostic delay lack of effective treatments there a pressing need in discovering new biomarkers for early diagnosis or targeted therapies. To date, little known about AdC proteome. We investigated protein expression PE using isobaric Tags Relative Absolute Quantification (iTRAQ) approach identify possible novel diagnostic/prognostic biomarkers. This provided identification 109 AdC-related proteins. further analyzed lumican, one overexpressed proteins, 88 resected AdCs 23 malignant cell-blocks (13 10 non-lung cancers) immunohistochemistry. In surgical samples, lumican was low cells, whereas it strong diffuse stroma surrounding tumor. However, not tumor grade, stage, vascular/pleural invasion. None showed immunoreaction, those all other tumors were strongly positive. Finally, immunoblotting analysis both cell lysate conditioned medium fibroblast culture but A549 line. valid source information proteomic without many restrictions plasma. The high levels characterizing PEs are probably due its release by fibroblasts Despite role still elusive, could be value.
