摘要: China undertook a Natural Forest Protection Program (NFPP) between 1998 and 2010 to prevent soil erosion, desertification, the decline of natural forest resources. This paper uses one most highly profiled species among World’s Red List, Amur tiger (Panthera tigris altaica) as an indicator demonstrate that conservation biodiversity could be enhanced by managing structures in northeastern during after NFPP. We first review conceptual model stand dynamics show how structure changes can impact wildlife populations based on multiple cases from around world. Second, we ongoing national NFPP past management harvesting history forests Northeast Inner Mongolia. Third, propose new approach this complements other efforts part next step implementing subsequent restoration programs. hypothesize open savanna have documented positive amount quality floor vegetation thus elevate carrying capacity for ungulates herds also cascading effect population. Therefore, with mixture dense canopies will best since it overall provides highest (food shelter) prey tiger. Through estimating tiger’s minimum home range different examining current conditions China, conclude majority there are endangerment is caused shortage suitable its prey. Consequently, enhance population species, additional manage ensure appropriate diversity maintained landscape Forests managed way may reduce human-tiger conflict entering populated areas searching domestic wild not easily found forests. Yet cautions need made because proactive bring greater hunting opportunities so must accompanied strong commitment controlling hunting.
