摘要: The overall context of Indigenous peoples in the Brazilian Amazon has changed dramatically since 1980s. After adoption 1988 constitution, large tracts lands have been recognized, which now cover more than 21% Amazon. Well conserved for most part, they play a key role deterring deforestation and climate change mitigation, while also undergoing drastic economic social changes. There are many factors challenging sustainability territories today, including deficient enforcement rights. injunction that should protect environment is complicating definition activities entitled to develop inside their territories. focus this paper review current situation Amazon, providing historical pointing out challenges debates surrounding sustainability.
