Surveys tested panellist ratings (essential, useful, irrelevant) a listing 143 competency elements derived from literature and existing standards, across rounds, with feedback between rounds. An arbitrary cut-off 67% was applied <10% change or 100% agreement interpreted as stability. Results A total 109 list were rated essential above cut-off, representing 76% original list. Thirty-three (33) by panellists. Approximately 90% more retained using science, communication, professional capacity building intervention management units. Competency beyond concentrated units assessment, monitoring surveillance, building, management. Conclusions The results provide empirical basis future curriculum renewal innovations challenge assumption that dietetic preparation based meeting entry-level is adequate community practice.
