Improving the Electrokinetic Remediation of Nickel-, Cadmium-, and Lead-contaminated Sediment

摘要: In this work, the simultaneous application of bipolar electrodes and a longer cathodic compartment length without agents addition was used as an enhanced electrokinetic treatment Ni-, Cd-, Pb-contaminated sediment. Conventional treatments were investigated their efficacy assessed by comparing residual metals content in sediment with values given Dutch standards. After conventional removals 20%, 19%, 31% for Ni, Cd, Pb achieved, whereas achieved removal efficacies 36% 42% 43% Pb. Results indicate that techniques mentioned is effective removing Ni Cd not removed to desired level. Here we show chemicals necessary increase treatments, so can be described environmentally friendly.
