摘要: Abstract Soil samples were collected during April 1990 (pre‐monsoon) from the mining and nonmining areas of Goa region analysed for chemical data viz. major trace element. A set iron ore phyllite also used comparison with soil data. Discriminant analysis on normalised element soil, suggested a clear discrimination between samples. From R‐mode factor four common factors retained soil. First second rotated explained as natural processes such weathering, secondary alteration clay minerals lateritisation process. The third fourth interpreted anthropogenic sources fertilizers, atmospheric fallout vehicular exhausts.
