摘要: Exposure to stress often is psychologically distressing. The impact of on alcohol use and the risk disorders (AUDs) depends type, timing during life course, duration, severity experienced. Four important categories stressors that can influence consumption are general stress, catastrophic/fateful childhood maltreatment, minority stress. General stressors, including divorce job loss, increase for AUDs. terrorism or other disasters causes population-level increases in overall but little incidence However, individuals with a history AUDs more likely drink cope traumatic event. Early onset drinking adolescence, as well adult AUDs, common among people who experience maltreatment. Finally, both perceptions objective indicators discrimination associated racial/ethnic sexual minorities. These observations demonstrate exposure many forms related subsequent areas this research remain be studied, greater attention role various course potential moderators when exposed stressors.
