摘要: Biliary sepsis represents a major percentage of fatal complications after endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography. We performed randomized controlled study to investigate the value antibiotic prophylaxis, and assess frequency source infectious associated with ERCP. Ninety-six patients who underwent 100 cholangiopancreatographies were included in study. Half received prophylaxis (Cefotaxime 2 g i.v. 15 min before procedure). Bacteremia was detected 2% receiving as compared 16% (p less than 0.02) control group. In order determine bacteremia, bile samples irrigation fluid from suction channel endo-scope obtained for bacteriological evaluation. Several lines evidence suggested that bacteremia ERCP essentially caused by mucosal lesions oropharynx. asymptomatic, exception two subsequently developed fever, but recovered rapidly under therapy. The cholangitis following not significantly reduced (4% vs. 2%). Recommendations are discussed.
