摘要: Abstract The carbon sequestered in harvested wood products (HWP) can contribute to climate change mitigation. As a fast-growing country with abundant forest resources, Indonesia potentially has vast HWP stocks that need be accurately assessed as first step towards understanding the extent of their potential contribution In this study, dynamic materials stock and flow analysis for wood-based was conducted, covering six end-use sectors. general, only around 30.3% (carbon mass) converted into 2014, indicating significantly low conversion rate Indonesia. There significant increase products’ from 1961 2016. were 72 (-17/+15) Mt-C Indonesian society 2016, or equivalent 0.28 t-C/capita. Buildings (42%) infrastructure (31%) largest contributors in-use stocks. product lifetime uncertainty had influence on estimate total society’s stock. Indonesia’s 2008 below its level steel (1.2 times smaller) cement (5.3 smaller). Both wood-steel wood-cement ratios showed declining trends, shifting trend non-renewable use over past decades. This is study accounts developing country. Its results facilitate further quantitative environmental assessments substitution could help framing policies
