摘要: Canine leishmaniasis (CanL) is a parasite-borne disease mainly induced by Leishmania infantum in the Old World and chagasi (infantum) New World. CanL zoonosis transmitted bite of infected Phlebotominae flies that act as vectors. very serious usually produces death when remains untreated can be focus transmission to other dogs or humans. Infected domestic wild animals reservoirs are real threat uninfected/healthy humans endemic areas where sand present. Prevention new infections help stop current increase humans, reinforcing concept "One Health" approach. The management being performed using prophylactic measures healthy - insecticides impregnated collars immunostimulants applied spot-on devices chemotherapy suffer from disease. Antimonials first-line monotherapy have proven efficacy reducing most clinical signs CanL, but they need administered during several days, no complete parasite clearance achieved, favouring presence relapses among treated dogs. Therefore, drugs, such miltefosine, combinations this drug antimonials with allopurinol pipeline treatment CanL. Recently, there has been an emergence protective curative autogenous vaccines immunotherapy tools face whose results still under study. This review highlights use preventive eradicative weapons fight against disease, which scourge for continuous human beings.
