摘要: The physical manifestations of aging reflect a loss homeostasis that effects molecular, cellular and organ system functional capacity. As sentinel homeostatic pathway, changes in apoptosis can have pathophysiological consequences both disease. To assess baseline global balance, sera from 204 clinically normal subjects had levels sFas (inhibitor apoptosis), sFasL (stimulator total cytochrome c (released cells during apoptosis) measured. Serum were significantly higher while lower men compared to women. With increasing age there was decrease apoptotic markers (cytochrome c) pro-apoptotic factors (sFasL) an increase anti-apoptotic (sFas) circulation. observed gender differences are consistent with the known between genders mortality morbidity. In separate cohort, either breast (n = 66) or prostate cancer 38) exhibited elevated reduced regardless age. These correlated disease severity tumor subversion apoptosis. shift toward less is increased incidence diseases whose pathophysiology involves dysregulation.
