摘要: Cancer and aging are two similar processes representing the final outcome of timedependent accumulation various irreversible dysfunctions, mainly caused by stress-induced DNA cellular damages. Apoptosis senescence types response to damages that altered in both cancer aging, albeit through different mechanisms. Carcinogenesis is associated with a progressive reduction ability cells trigger apoptosis senescence. In contrast, tissues, there an increased senescent cells, nature deregulation varies depending on tissue. Thus, prevailing model suggests function as essential tumor-suppressor mechanisms, ensuring health individual during early reproductive stages life, but become detrimental promote later life. The recent discovery anticancer agents, including canonical inducers apoptosis, act also indicates pro-senescence strategies may have applications prevention therapy. Therefore, dissection mechanisms mediating delicate balance between will be beneficial therapeutic exploitation development future anti-aging strategies, minimizing side effects such strategies. Here, we provide overview roles aging.
