摘要: Abstract The possibility that substance P (SP) is a neurotransmitter of baro- and chemoreceptor afferents in the rat was investigated. SP-like immunoreactivity (SP-I) analyzed quantitatively by radioimmunoassay various levels nucleus tractus solitarius (NTS), site termination these while SP-containing afferent neurons were studied portions peripheral pathways immunocytochemistry. It found NTS contained significant amounts SP-I unilateral removal nodose ganglia reduces content those known to receive vagal afferents. In addition, visualized discrete fibers tunica adventitia aortic arch carotid sinus regions, vagus nerve ganglia. These results are consistent with our previous studies cat provide further evidence SP within nerves.
