摘要: Objectives: Despite the growing use of online databases by clinicians, there has been very little research documenting how effectively they are used. This study assessed ability medical and nurse-practitioner students to answer clinical questions using an information retrieval system. It also attempted identify demographic, experience, cognitive, personality, search mechanics, user-satisfaction factors associated with successful a system. Methods: Twenty-nine completed questionnaires computer experience as well tests cognitive abilities personality type. They were then administered three in library setting MEDLINE database electronic print full-text resources. Results: Medical able more correctly than before after searching, but both had comparable improvements number correct searching. Successful was having literature searching higher standardized test-score percentiles. Conclusions: obtained benefits from Future must examine strategies that improve posed clinicians practice.
