摘要: The carbonic anhydrase inhibitor, 6-amino-2-benzothiazolesulfonamide, formulated as a 3% suspension in gel vehicle was instilled one eye of 21 human subjects single dose study to determine its effect on aqueous dynamics. A small but statistically significant humor flow observed 2 7 hours after application. By 8 hours, the had disappeared, and intraocular pressure (IOP) measured application unchanged these normal volunteers. drug caused local side effects including irritation, hyperemia, blurred vision. authors wondered if multiple doses would produce greater effect. Four received up four over days were restudied. Marked bulbar injection follicular conjunctivitis, attributable either or vehicle, developed two subjects, both contact lens wearers. milder form conjunctivitis third subject, who three not wearer. These precluded additional multiple-dose testing this formulation drug, no conclusions about can be drawn from portion study.
