摘要: Fasciclin I is a homophilic neural cell adhesion molecule which regionally expressed on subset of fasciculating axons in both the grasshopper and Drosophila embryo, suggesting role axonal recognition. It also dynamically variety other embryonic tissues. Biochemical analysis fasciclin glycoprotein from membranes Schneider 1 cells indicates that it tightly associated with lipid bilayer by phosphatidylinositol moiety. In embryos large fraction protein has lost its membrane anchor. The ratio this soluble form to phosphatidylinositol-linked changes during embryogenesis. We speculate removal could be mechanism regulate adhesive function.
