摘要: Microalgae are key components of many aquatic food webs and biodiversity, yet little is known the dynamics algal assemblages in tropical systems, where diversity likely to be very high. This study investigated remnant riparian water holes seasonal Australian tropics, natural human influences on them. Phytoplankton sample sand situ physico-chemical data were collected from sites Burdekin River catchment, one largest Australia. Sites catchment chosen based differing chemistry turbidity. Samples at three times during day (dawn, midday, afternoon) two microhabitats within waterhole (open macrophytes) varying year representing wet dry seasons change between seasons. Multivariate analyses demonstrated compositional differences rivers showed that conductivity turbidity major determinants differences. Majority dominance Chlorophyta, followed by Cyanophyta Heterokontophyta (Bacillariophyceae). The related both geological edaphic factors land management regimes catchment. results provide improved understanding will used create models for site-specific assessment quality a regional monitoring program.
