摘要: Abstract In November 1997, Cryptosporidium andersoni, for the first time, was isolated from a Danish heifer. The isolate characterised morphologically, molecularly, and furthermore inoculated into mice one calf. Data on distribution of cryptosporidia in herd origin were obtained at two separate visits December 1997 April 1998. C. andersoni detected 27 (19.0%) 142 cattle examined visit, whereas parvum found six (4.2%). At following visit 42 (28.0%) 150 excreted while 25 (16.7%) positive parvum. Oocysts ovoid, 7.3 (6.5–8.0)×5.7 (5.0–7.0) μm2 (n=25), with smooth, colourless, single layer oocyst wall distinct residuum. length to width ratio 1.27 (1.14–1.40, n=25). identification verified by sequencing 246 bp fragment rDNA, which identical muris, calf genotype (AF093496). not transmissible mice, oocysts faeces experimentally infected days post-infection (DPI) shed intermittently low numbers until 165 DPI, day euthanasia. No macroscopic or microscopic changes that could be attributed infection seen gastro-intestinal tract necropsy histological examination. This is our knowledge report Scandinavia.
