摘要: The microstructures, machinability and surface characteristics of Al–7Si Al–7Si–2.5Cu cast alloys were studied after various melt treatments like grain refinement modification. Results indicate that combined refined modified have microstructures consisting uniformly distributed α-Al grains, eutectic Al–silicon fine CuAl2 particles in the interdendritic region. These exhibited better condition compared with same alloy subjected to only or Performances turning inserts (Un-coated, PVD Polished CVD diamond coated) evaluated machining under dry environment using a lathe. coated insert outperformed Un-coated PVD-coated cutting which suffered from sizeable edge buildup leading higher force poor finish. shows very small steady wear without flaking film during cutting. This paper attempts investigate influence refinement, modification action both on microstrutural changes their finish when different used.
