摘要: Vaccines represent a remarkable success in the history of medicine since they have prevented and, some instances, eradicated range infectious diseases. However, for many existing vaccines, immunogenicity is limited, requiring multiple booster doses, and we are still unable to target pathogens due intrinsic features microorganism, such as genetic/antigenic variability between strains, our limited understanding variables that regulate vaccine responsiveness, including age- sex-specific differences. Moreover, traditional approach development often empirical, relying on inactivation microorganisms or purification their components, which usually less immunogenic than whole microorganism from derive. This has yielded important vaccines but failed consistently generate sufficiently populations with immune responsiveness newborns elderly individuals. In an effort trigger impactful collaborations, community scientists gathered Boston United States first biennial International Precision Conference, sponsored by Children's Hospital Program, discuss innovation vaccinology. Recent advancements field systems biology can identify biomarkers populations, human vitro models, novel adjuvant formulation strategies offer unprecedented opportunities dissect response inform dramatic improvements efficacy. These approaches poised major scientific translational impact
