摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter analyzes different types of lubricants. Hydrodynamic lubrication is the normally preferred type in which bearing surfaces are completely separated by lubricant, may be a liquid or gas. The pressure lubricant film most commonly generated relative movement and their geometry (converging). It also possible to generate externally, hydrostatic lubrication, this has certain advantages such as ensuring presence at start-up when insufficient an oil film; it does require, however, supply pump control devices. Where do not conform geometrically, load carried very small areas pressures high. Classical hydrodynamic theory indicates that would effectively contact because ignores increase area caused elastic distortion viscosity lubricants elevated pressures.
