Study of direct type ethanol fuel cells: Analysis of anode products and effect of acetaldehyde

摘要: Abstract The anode products are observed when ethanol fuel is circulated in the direct cell system using Nafion ® as an electrolyte. main CO 2 and acetaldehyde. I – V characteristics of a type acetaldehyde fuels investigated. Anode cathode overpotentials also measured to analyze characters polarization curves obtained for both fuels. MEA consisted PtRu catalyst. voltage drops concentration solution increases. In case solution, increases overpotential although increase smaller than that overpotential. opposite result solutions, i.e., decreases. This shows drop results from Rotating disc electrode (RDE) measurements curve were performed confirm relation between overpotentials. It supposed electrocatalytic oxidation mechanism on catalyst different ethanol.
