摘要: The electrochemical behaviour of acetaldehyde at platinum and rhodium electrodes in acid solutions was studied applying differential mass spectrometry (DEMS). In an acetaldehyde-containing solution, CO2 the sole electrooxidation product detected both electrodes, whereas only methane recorded hydrogen region. production acetic indirectly established from DEMS. Residues were through design flow cell experiments. As for adsorbates produce during oxidation reduction processes, respectively. However, ethane also observed cathodic stripping adspecies. yield these substances depends on adsorption potential (Ead). These results suggest that fragmentation occurs reactions, extent CC bond scission is influenced by Ead nature electrode, being favoured rhodium. © 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
