摘要: Abstract The different metals show remarkable differences concerning the stability of adsorbed layers. On Pt, benzene is completely oxidized to CO 2 at potentials where oxygen adsorbes, whereas on Rh and Pd a part starts being desorbed without oxidation oxide layer formed. A negative going sweep after adsorption leads formation and/or cyclohexane. From Pt Pd, cathodic desorption nearly complete, from only 15% adsorbate cathodically desorbable. anodic products preadsorbed aniline are (on Pd) or , HCN NO Rh). quantitative evaluation shows that largest total nitrogen yields − 3 final product reaction sequence with as intermediates. Oxidation pyridine and, higher potentials, NO. therefore carbon atoms. Surface concentrations indicate η 6 -adsorption for Pt. Rh, maximum coverages less than one monolayer, probably due strong competitive sulfate.
