摘要: We assessed the effect of quitting cigarette smoking on incidence nonfatal myocardial infarction in men under age 55 a case-control study 1873 with first episodes and 2775 controls. For "current" smokers (men who had smoked previous year) as compared those never smoked, estimated relative risk infarction, adjusted for age, was 2.9 (95 per cent confidence interval, 2.4 to 3.4). Among exsmokers (those last at least one year previously), relative-risk estimate declined value close unity abstained two years; 2.0 (1.1 3.8) 12 23 months, estimates were about 1.0 longer intervals. The results unchanged by allowance multiple potential confounding factors. A similar pattern apparent among heavily many predisposed because family history, hypertension, or other factors; no predisposition. suggest that decreases within few years level have smoked.
