摘要: A 60 years old man died of fulminant hepatitis E on 21st April, 2009, in Hakodate, Hokkaido, Japan. The virus (HEV) genomic sequence from this patient segregated to genotype 4, which is known be more pathogenic than 3 and prevalent Hokkaido other areas To our surprise, however, HEV isolate co-clustered with the so-called "Kitami/Abashiri strain", had been recovered patients Kitami Abashiri (also Hokkaido) 2004 2006, respectively. Thus, an apparent association lineage has observed times, leading us suspect a causal relationship. Most likely being passaged/propagated pig farm (s) somewhere may cause another case(s) severe unless countermeasures are taken.
