摘要: As a novel stormwater best-management practice, using soil/sand/mulch mixture to capture urban pollutants while promoting infiltration, the unique media composition renders bioretention significantly different from conventional sand filters. In this work, three-layer model is presented describe particulate in employing parameter calibration and presensitivity analysis. Since fine size of strictly limits penetration distance, column modeled as pristine zone (bottom), working (middle), cake (top). Mechanisms both depth filtration are examined through mass balances, which show that significant. The developed resistance each layer due solid deposition was also estimated. Experimental data for media/TSS-type combinations selected experimental trials were used calibration. calibrated successfully predicted effluent TSS hydraulic conductivity subsequent with appropriate boundary initial conditions input. A weighted combination parameters types agreed well behavior treating complex mixture. results replacement (top removal refill) simulation reasonably fit data. Using proper assumptions, long-term scenario analysis permeability reduction performed field facility. Based on modeling results, study recommends shallow design, an annual or biannual inspection schedule, periodic maintenance.
