摘要: Best Management Practices (BMPs) are measures for mitigating nonpoint source (NPS) pollution caused mainly by stormwater runoff. Established urban and newly developing areas must develop cost effective means restoring or minimizing impacts, planning future growth. Prince George's County in Maryland, USA, a fast-growing region the Washington, DC metropolitan area, has developed number of tools to support analysis decision making management design at watershed level. These analysis, innovative BMPs, optimization. Application these can help achieve environmental goals lead significant savings. This project includes software development that utilizes GIS information technology, integrates BMP processes simulation models, applies system optimization techniques selection. The employs ESRI ArcGIS as platform, provides GIS-based visualization networks including sequences land uses, stream reaches. also interfaces placement, attribute data input, management. stand-alone evaluation module, which complements both research regulatory control assessment efforts, allows flexibility examining various alternatives. Process based BMPs technique is sensitive local climate rainfall patterns. incorporates meta-heuristic find most cost-effective placement implementation plan given target, fixed cost. A case study presented demonstrate application system. involves highly urbanized area Anacostia River (a tributary Potomac River) southeast DC. An practices proposed minimize runoff, improve water quality, provide reuse opportunities. Proposed include bioretention, green roof, rooftop runoff collection (rain barrel) systems. modeling was used identify combinations frequency size events resulting combined sewer overflows River.
