摘要: Marine ecosystems across the world's largest ocean - Pacific Ocean are being increasingly affected by stressors such as pollution, overfishing, acidification, coastal development and warming events coupled with rising sea levels increasing frequency of extreme weather. These anthropogenic-driven stressors, which operate cumulatively at varying spatial temporal scales, leading to ongoing pervasive degradation many marine in Island region. The effects global acidification threaten much region impact on socio-cultural, environmental, economic human health components nations. Simultaneously, resilience climate change is reduced systems overburdened other land-based pollution unsustainable fishing. Consequently, it important understand vulnerability this future environmental scenarios determine what extent management actions can help protect, rebuild ecosystem maintain service provision. This Special Issue papers explores these pressures through case studies region, impacts individual cumulative condition, survival communities that depend them. represent original work from tropical oceanscape, an area includes 22 countries territories plus Hawaii Philippines. 39 within provide insights anthropogenic habitat responses local, national, regional scales. themes range water quality health, assessment status trends for habitats (e.g. seagrass coral reefs), interaction local (pollution, overfishing) temperatures variability. Studies highlight how actions, monitoring, tourism values, management, policy incentives encourage adaptation impacts. Conclusions identify possible solutions support sustainable harmonious environment social unique oceanscape.
