摘要: Abstract This paper investigated properties of dispersed phases in an Al94Mn2Be2Cu2 alloy using a microindentation hardness test. The focus was directed to the possible strengthening for aluminium alloys: icosahedral quasicrystalline phase (i-phase), hexagonal approximant with large unit cell (H-phase) and ternary cubic Be4AlMn. A single grain μ-Al4Mn also examined as reference. application scanning electron microscopy focussed ion beam, significantly increased reliability reproducibility results. i-phase distinguished by highest Vickers fraction elastic energy, while modulus Be4AlMn, being close that pure Be. striking resemblances indentation curves cluster substructures: i-phase, H-phase μ-Al4Mn, especially presence pop-ins, suggested related deformation mechanisms.
