Heat transfer and flowfriction behaviors in a channel with multiple 30° V-ribs

摘要: The paper presents an experimental study on heat transfer and flow friction characteristics in a rectangular channel fitted with periodically V-ribs. multiple V-rib turbulators are tested the having aspect ratio (width to height ratio), AR=10 height, H= 30 mm, three rib-to-channel ratios (e/H=0.2, 0.3, 0.4), two rib-pitch channel-height (PR=P 1 /H= 3 4) single attack angle (α=30°). upper plate of is uniformly heated at constant heat-flux. experiment has been conducted by varying airflow velocity order obtain Reynolds number range from 5000 24,000. results show significant effect presence ribs rate pressure drop over smooth channel. measured data indicates that e/H = 0.4 PR =3 yields highest loss. All perform much higher than no rib.
